In 1961, Goa was emancipated from Portuguese control as a small, green land on the western coast of India, India’s 25th state of the Union. The territory of the Union of Goa, Daman & Diu was created as a distinct state on 30 May 1987. Goa has an area of 3702 km2 and includes two-income areas of the Nord Goa and South Goa districts. In the northern Terekhol River it is defined by Goan State Boundaries, in the east and south it divides from that of the Maharashtra, in the east and the west from the Arabian Sea. Goa is located 594 km from the west coast of India (by route) from Mumbai town.
Goa is one of the top choices for the beach lovers. Thousands of tourists visit Goa every year from all over the world for its beaches. Goa is also famous among nightlife lovers.
