Ecotourism in India
According to The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), ecotourism can be defined as “responsible travel to natural areas that conserve the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education”
Our philosophy is simple. We encourage tourism that is environment-friendly, socially & culturally acceptable, and economically viable. The core concept that we practice is treating the host the way they wish to be treated which results in respect between tourists and hosts. We ensure that all our local partners also follow the same. We at LPI Travels designers ensure that every client traveling with us has a fair understanding of the local culture and values so that they can treat the locals accordingly, which builds pride among the locals and respect towards guests.
Economic Responsibility
We ensure that the financial benefits of tourism are passed down throughout the entire company, including the office staff, guides, naturalists, and the wildlife communities in which we work.
Environmental Responsibility
We reduce paper wastage in our office by not producing any form of paper brochures. All communications are by email and paper mail is rarely sent or received. We have reduced the need for paper in our office by the use of computer technology.
We have ongoing training of our guides and naturalists to ensure high standards of environmental care and responsible behavior.
We have various office initiatives to reduce our impact on the environment and use of energy: we recycle all paper, wear thick jumpers in winter, use local suppliers whenever possible, encourage the use of public transport by staff, and strive for a paper-free office.
Responsible Tourism in The National Parks & Wildlife Sanctuaries
LPI Travels ensures that our lodge partners brief our clients about the park rules properly, as we are committed to respecting park rules and creating awareness about environmental concerns, which helps provide a good wildlife experience to clients.
We work with wildlife lodges that are environment-friendly and follow ethical practices, as we emphasize overall learning of wildlife, birdlife, environment, local cultures, tribal lives, and people around the park. Our park safaris are conducted by trained naturalists, who help in preparing a checklist of sightings of mammals, birds, insects, plants, and trees, as a responsible tourism initiative.
Our prompt payment policy ensures everyone in the chain is paid their wages timely, which keeps the ground staff happy, including park guides and drivers, and ensures better delivery of services for our clients.
Social Responsibility
We encourage our clients to act responsibly. Our guides and naturalists are professionally qualified and have a great passion for their work. Not only will they tell you about the history of the places you will visit but they will also be able to tell you about the culture and the local traditions and superstitions.
We are particular and committed to using hotels and resorts which follow environmental policies.
Our associate DMC all across India employs local people and pays them a fair wage helping to put money into the local economy.
We contribute directly to many community projects as mentioned in our Initiatives mentioned below:
With the increase in the number of travelers, we have observed a change in the thought process of the travelers. They want to be less invasive and more beneficial to the local community.
We would like to say a big thank you to all our esteemed clients and associates for believing in our philosophy of responsible tourism and achieving great success so far.
