Buddhist Tour


Day 01 : Delhi

On Arrival you will be transferred to hotel.

Day 02 : Delhi Varanasi (6E 176 1645/ 1805)

Enjoy a full day's tour of historic and modern Delhi. Some of the sights you will see include Red Fort (photo from outside), Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar(optional), Humayun's Tomb(optional), Rajghat, India Gate, Parliament House and the Bahai Temple. Assisted transfer to Airport for your departure to Varanasi by flight. Dinner at Hotel.

Day 03 : Varanasi Bodhgaya (Surface)

Early morning Boat ride in river Ganges the most fascinating aspect of Varanasi. Watch thousands of worshippers in obeisance before Sun God. Visit to Saranath the holy shrine of the Buddhist where LORD BUDHA preached his first sermon after he had gained Enlightenment. Visit the Stupa and Archaeological Museum (closed on Fridays). Drive to Bodhgaya .

Day 04 : Bodhgaya

Here under the Bodhi tree (Tree of Awakening). Shakyamuni Gautama attained supreme knowledge to become Buddha, the "Enlightened One", the propounder of one of the great religions of the world.

Day 05 : Bodhgaya Rajgir (Surface)

Drive to Rajgir. Rajgir, known earlier as 'Rajagriha'. The Buddha frequented Rajagriha, seeking the solitude and tranquility of the Jivkamaravana monastery, preaching and meditating at the Griddhakuta hill (Hill of vultures).

Day 06 : Rajgir Vaishali (Surface)

Drive to Vaishali. Visit Ashokan Pillar : Emperor Ashoka built The Lion Pillar at Kolhua. It is made of a highly polished single piece of red sandstone, surmounted by a bell shaped capital, 18.3 m high. A life-size figure of a lion is placed on top of the pillar. This pillar beside a brick stupa at Kolhua commemorates Buddha's last sermon. Drive to Kushinagar.

Day 07 : Kushinagar Lumbini (Surface)

Kushinagar is one of the principal centers of Buddhist pilgrimage, as it is the place of Mahaparinrvana. Drive to Lumbini .

Day 08 : Lumbini Sravasti (Surface)

On the full moon day Prince Siddhartha was born in Lumbini under the Sala tree. Lumbini's Mayadevi Mandir, an ancient stone relief depicting Budha's birth, dates back to the 2nd century. The marble copy close by depicts the new born Buddha being blessed by Brahma and Mayadevi, Buddha's mother. Drive to Sravasti.

Day 09 : Sravasti Lucknow (Surface)

Sravasti, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala, has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. This holy place also has the famous Anand Bodhi tree, an offspring of the one, said to have been planted by Buddha's main disciple. Drive to Lucknow.

Day 10 : Lucknow Agra (Surface)

Drive to Agra. Half day city tour visiting the World famous Taj Mahal built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan in the year 1652 as a memorial for his beloved wife MumtazMahal. Also a visit to Agra Fort built and renovated over the centuries, this massive fort gained recognition only during the Mughal reign.

Day 11 : Agra Delhi (Surface)

Drive to Delhi. Assisted transfer to Airport for your departure to HOME by flight.
